Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl – Doha, Qatar’s new ultra-luxury resort has officially opened its doors to welcome visitors and guests. As Europe's oldest luxury hotel group, Kempinski is synonymous with personal service and hospitality. It is complemented by the exclusivity and individuality of its properties, personified in its new hotel located on the sought after The Pearl-Qatar.

Wissam Suleiman, General Manager, comments: “This hotel is a benchmark for personalised luxury in Doha. From the opulent corridors and public spaces, to the luxuriously appointed rooms and suites, to a selection of the finest restaurants and lounges, all of these premium offerings will offer an unrivalled and tailored experience for each and every one of our guests.”

The new premier destination is a testament to Kempinski’s landmark properties, with Marsa Malaz Kempinski showcasing the finest European architecture blended with traditional Arabian elements - a true palace in every sense of the word. There are over half a million pieces of mother of pearl across the hotel; 330,000 decorating the walls and 280,000 hand carved into the furniture. Additionally, the stunning hand-blown Murano glass oyster chandeliers from Italy showcase Kempinski’s attention to detail, boasting over 44,000 pieces across four chandeliers within the hotel’s lobby, taking over six weeks to assemble.

A truly ocular experience has been created for guests with Marsa Malaz Kempinski showcasing over 3,000 pieces of art, ranging from paintings to sculptures, exhibited both indoors and outdoors, created by artists from around the world. This includes Doha-based artist Ahmed al Bahrani who crafted the iconic ‘horse’ sculpture visible upon entering the island of Marsa Malaz Kempinski. It’s the finer details that exude the intricacy put into this hotel; there are over 3,000 pieces of handcrafted glasses and over 9,000 pieces of handcrafted chinaware created especially for Marsa Malaz Kempinski. These bespoke pieces will be offered for guests across the 11 food and beverage outlets across the resort - a number unprecedented in Doha.

Mr Suleiman continues: “The opening of Marsa Malaz Kempinski is not only an important milestone for us as a luxury hotel brand, but also for the State of Qatar, which is fast becoming a world-class destination. Doha’s new premier resort is the perfect place to start the journey of discovering Qatar’s unique culture and heritage combined with the fast-paced development of this modern city.”
